A wonderful addition to a warm and sunny patio or herb garden.

The foliage of this decorative herb will release a strong pineapple-like scent each time it is brushed past or gently touched.

Not only do the leaves smell great, but they are also edible, and they can be used in summer drinks, cakes, cookies or chopped into salads and in late summer, you have the added bonus of showy clusters of bright scarlet flowers to enjoy!

Move plants to a frost-free place when the temperatures start to drop (a greenhouse or unheated conservatory would be ideal), and keep drier in winter.

Trim the tips throughout the growing season to encourage bushier growth.
